This role will be responsible for the SHRM Foundation consumer experience across all audience segments by planning integrated marketing tactics, executing, measuring and optimizing. This role must bring an intense understanding of audience insights and behaviors, marketing automation enablement tools, copywriting/messaging and branding to deliver on targeted strategies. This position will bring SHRM Foundation programs to the marketplace and help members/customers see value in SHRM.
Develops a deep understanding of target audiences expectations, wants and needs to create strategies and pathways for SHRM/SHRM Foundation.
Strategize MarCom plans, messaging and oversee execution of tactics at an exemplary level across stakeholders and channels.
Drive MarCom strategies that are aligned with SHRM Foundation's business goals.
Lead the content creation campaigns and assets. Write and edit content including social media posts, website updates, press release, proposals, and messaging docs aligned with SHRM’s and SHRM Foundation’s overall communication strategy.
Manage cohesive brand alignment in all deliverables, with specific focus on developing and project managing organization-wide MarCom campaigns, content and graphics collateral for SHRM Foundation.
Lead the development and management of the SHRM Foundation brand including updating and maintaining the Foundation brand guidelines in compliance with the overarching SHRM Masterbrand strategy.
Act as main point of contact and manage the relationship between the Foundation and any external PR/Marketing agencies.
Lead development of long-range communication plans, goals, objectives and analytics of measurement for ROI output.
Work cross-function to ensure a consistency in message across all departments and projects.
Lead development and execution of annual campaigns and marketing collateral for specific programs created and run by the SHRM Foundation, such as Getting Talent Back to Work and Employing Abilities for All, etc.
Detailed project management of programs/initiatives/campaigns.
Manage lead gen, data management and mass outreach.
Responsible for all channel execution.
Measure the impact of these campaigns and individual pieces of content in collaboration with the fundraising and programmatic teams.
Move fast and take leadership across execution and tactics
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience is required
At least 6 years of progressively complex experience in marketing
Expertise in email copywriting, using messaging to convert
Expertise in brand marketing campaign management
Background in a large PR or marketing agency strongly preferred
Experience with Marketo, SalesForce and Website (word press, drupal, etc.) is preferred
Copywriting, digital media and/or project management preferred
Knowledge of MarCom to drive a Foundation’s programs to a boarder audience tied back to the parent organization
Deep understanding of content marketing tailored for audience segments – ability to apply consumer insights to improve campaigns (copywriting, targeting, delivery and performance)
Customer lifecycle marketing including demand generation and using content to convert
Strong problem-solving skills
High level of responsiveness and ability to adapt to change
SEO/SEM, Digital marketing, paid media, email marketing, co-branded/donor sponsored marketing
Strong attention to detail
Lead with bold purpose while collaborating fiercely with a high-degree of accountability
Appetite to innovate, fail-fast, and be smart & curious
Must thrive in a constantly changing, fast pace environment managing the needs of donors, internal stakeholders and external factors
Must be an autonomous leader who can strategize and execute

Work is generally performed sitting, talking, hearing and typing. Visual acuity to use a keyboard, prepare and analyze data and figures; transcribing, viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
Travel Required: Moderate 20-30%
Work is regularly performed in an office and routinely uses standard office equipment. The role is based in the Alexandria, VA headquarters of SHRM. It may require the maintenance of home office.
