POSITION SUMMARY

Support the development and coordination of SHRM’s strategic plan, and innovative strategic initiatives and subsequent lines of effort that support that plan.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute analysis utilizing internal and external data sources in support of business decision-making and strategy development

  • Develop scenario analysis and examine strategic performance related to the development of action plans

  • Assist in research related to tracking industry trends and emerging market opportunities

  • Identify strategic opportunities among the organization’s divisions

  • Advise senior leadership on business priorities through competitive research, industry benchmarking, partner input and data analysis

  • Assist in the development and implementation of proprietary datasets that will support the businesses

  • Construct and articulate documentation and presentation narratives, rendering those narratives as appropriate in digital and printed formats

  • Build executive and Board-ready materials and work cross-functionally with business partners

  • Provide business process feedback to improve client facing consulting workflows

  • Act as a liaison with clients and team members on a regular basis to discuss & execute projects, provide updates & recommendations, and prepare materials

  • Provide independent, proactive thought leadership on problems without precedent

  • Complete ad-hoc projects, as directed, by the Chief Strategy Officer and the Executive Office

  • Provide project management support across project lifecycles

  • Provide surge support to adjacent team members as needed

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, required.

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in supporting, contributing to and presenting strategic plans, related implementation and operational activities, and policy.

  • Organized and detail-oriented, comfortable working with diverse teams.

  • High intellect and critical thinking skills.

  • Confident and effective public speaking and strong written communication skills.

  • Personal accountability.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Flexibility, agility and resilience.

  • Microsoft Office and equivalent expertise.

ADA SPECIFICATIONS

This position involves moderate travel of week to 10 days duration and ability to work from off-site. Must be able to travel locally to meetings. This is an office position and may require some bending and lifting and requires the use of a computer and office machines.
