SHRM Director, Strategic Affiliate Partnerships in Alexandria, Virginia
The Membership Department is responsible for the active support of SHRM Initiatives, Programs and Activities through our state, chapter and volunteers and direct interactions with members and students. The team is primarily focused on membership retention, growth and development via relationships with new and existing chapters and member-at-large outreach efforts. It is accountable for the overall health and growth of the state council and chapter delivery channel for SHRM and the direct outreach to the HR profession and community. Supports overall member retention and acquisition goals, including strategies to support member engagement.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Membership, the Director, Strategic Affiliate Partnerships, directs the comprehensive strategy and initiatives to achieve SHRM’s objectives and goals for SHRM's SuperMega chapter engagement, initiatives and programs. The position directs and supervises staff and organizational resources to increase satisfaction, communication, engagement, and collaboration that leads to shared business goals and a higher retention of SHRM members within the SuperMega chapters. This position serves as the senior account manager for the SuperMega distribution channel, providing a single point of contact and plays a critical, strategic role in building relationships inside SHRM and with affiliates in driving SHRM goals and objectives with this key constituency.
Develops, plans, and executes comprehensive strategy to achieve the business, operational and financial results for SHRM’s SuperMega strategy. Position partners with the marketing department in developing the strategy that meets the business objectives of SHRM.
Directs and manages the relationships with all super mega accounts and coordinates all SHRM stakeholder input including head quarter leads and Field Services Directors in securing SHRM business objectives.
Establishes, maintains and strengthens SuperMega chapter relationships and other stakeholders to advance SHRM and the SuperMega chapters shared objectives and goals.
Creates and executes a senior account plan for each SuperMega Chapter to meet SHRM and the affiliates mutual business objectives. Responsibilities includes compiling data and key financial information; developing proposed SHRM partnership offerings; ensuring affiliation governance requirements and achieving financial, membership and programmatic key performance indicators for SHRM business objectives.
Directs financial and staff resources to meets the goals and objectives of SHRM with our SuperMega chapter engagement strategy.
Oversees affiliation and governance requirements and compliance for SuperMega chapters.
Manages the day-to-day requests and coordination of the SHRM's SuperMega chapters.
Directs the sponsorships and booth branding and presence at SuperMega annual conferences in support of SHRM’s strategic objectives with these chapters.
Provides presentations on SHRM at SuperMega conferences and other settings in support of SuperMega program objectives.
Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Human Resources, Marketing, or similar field
7 to 10 years of experience as a senior account manager and demonstrated experience in developing and executing a plan
Proven results as a senior account manager and demonstrated experience in developing and executing a plan
Strong management, leadership and organizational skills with demonstrated experience in project management efforts and executing an overall strategy
Successful association or business management experience with strong business acumen
Demonstrated understanding and use of performance metrics and data analytics, including ability to determine major cost and revenue drivers for each SuperMega in the development of account plans
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including experience in giving public presentations or speaking activities
Excellent negotiation skills with a problem-solving attitude required with an aptitude for building strong relationships
Demonstrated ability to manage budget and financial resources
Excellent member and customer service focus with the ability to influence and/or persuade stakeholders. Must be diplomatic, team-oriented and sensitive to the needs of members and staff to work across a large organization, secure resources, build relationships and identify opportunities is essential
Prior work with volunteer organizations is helpful, but sensitivity to and awareness of volunteer needs is essential
Ability to simultaneously coordinate a variety of complex projects and work within activity program deadlines is needed
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
