SUMMARY
SHRM’s paid internship program enables students to participate in valuable real-world work experience through a variety of tailored assignments within their areas of interest and fields of study. Students will be tasked with different team specific projects, tasks, and participate in professional development projects and events to prepare them for their future careers. The Student Membership Intern will be playing a key part in analyzing data of our student affiliates and developing programmatic content to enhance our student membership value proposition. The position will collaborate cross-functionally with Membership, Marketing, Customer Experience, and Technology teams to continuously improve the customer experience, student chapter engagement & visibility, and revenue. This is a paid internship at a starting rate of $20.00/Hour.
Responsibilities:
Support the needs and requests of the student chapters and volunteer leaders
Helping support the Salesforce Student Queue
Attend conference calls with Emerging Professional Advisory Council (EPAC)
Attend conference calls with College Relations Directors/Student Chapters
Attend Meetings with student stakeholders within SHRM.
Supporting engagement strategies for university student chapters
Help with shipment of collateral for student affiliates
Assist team in affiliate bylaw process
Provide feedback on student perspective for wants and needs of student audiences
Assist with cleanup of virtual resources such as the VLRC and other student pages
Research competitive landscape for the mind-share/wallet-share for students interested in the HR space
Develop support materials for presentations utilizing SHRM data.
Develop email resources and templates for volunteer leader communication
Carry out division-specific tasks/activities as assigned by the supervisor throughout the duration of the internship
Manage deliverables and provide regular updates
Education & Experience Requirements
Preferred fields of study: pursuing a bachelor’s in Business, Organizational Leadership, Human Resources, Hospitality Management, or other related fields
0-3 years of relevant work experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Physical Requirements
· Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations.
· Work is generally done sitting, talking, hearing, and typing. Visual acuity to use a keyboard, prepare and analyze data and figures; transcribing, viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
Work environment
SHRM does operate under a hybrid work schedule and will require you to be in SHRM’s headquarters in Alexandria, VA on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Mondays and Fridays will be working remotely.
Work is regularly performed in a combination of office and conference settings and routinely uses standard office equipment.
