SHRM Manager, Integration Development & Technology Testing in Alexandria, Virginia

Overview

Technology Solutions is within SHRM's Technology Operations division. Primary objective of the department is to ensure that SHRM's digital media provides an innovative and compelling user experience while reflecting the brand promise at all touch points with the help of flexible and cost-effective technology solutions. The technology solutions and tools encompass all of SHRM's online solutions including Digital Media, Interactive Design, eCommerce, DataWarehouse, Business Intelligence tools etc.

Guide and manage the development of integration solutions between SHRM’s ERP Platform and external systems, and oversee performance and functional testing for all of SHRM’s technical implementations. Establish the strategies and processes to be used in integration development and quality assurance, and ensure requirements are clear, testable, and well documented.

Responsibilities

Your Day:

  • Develop the strategy and architecture for integration development between ERP Platform (NetSuite) and external systems.

  • Design, develop and implement organizational testing strategy and test plans for technology solutions.

  • Manage integration development resources and testing resources, both employees and consultants. Represent the team at management meetings.

  • Write and/or review requirements for software customizations, ensuring their testability, clarity, and maintainability. Coach others in proper requirement writing syntax and organization.

  • Establish entry and exit criteria for testing phases and production releases.

  • Ability to coach, mentor, write reviews, and develop performance plans for direct reports.

  • Oversee translation of issues and failures in pre-production and production environments found by end-users, other organizations, and the testing team to reproducible defects for Development and Infrastructure teams to fix.

  • Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (CS, IT, IS, etc.) and/or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in software development and/or testing.

  • Minimum of 5 years technology management experience.

  • Experience with automated performance testing and automated functional testing.

  • Experience writing requirements.

  • Experience with SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle).

  • Experience integrating different systems via APIs.

  • Knowledge of APIs – SOAP, XML-RPC, JSON-RPC, and/or REST.

  • Knowledge of automated testing tools - selenium, cucumber, capybara, and/or QTP.

  • Knowledge of performance testing tools - JMeter, and/or LoadRunner.

  • Knowledge of test case management and defect tracking tools - TestRail, Quality Center, and/or JIRA.

  • Ability to lead by both managing and contributing.

  • Ability to collaborate with developers, designers, business analysts, testers, and product owners on decisions related to software releases and requirements.

  • Good verbal and written skills required.

  • Strong technical experience in the systems and technologies being integrated (databases, applications, etc)

  • Experience with ERPs (Enterprise Resource Planning platforms)

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum and BDD.

  • Knowledge of ERPs – NetSuite.

  • Knowledge of CRMs - Salesforce

  • Knowledge of BDD (Behavior Driven Development) methodology and syntax – Gherkin.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to sit; talk and hear, use hands to type, file, handle or feel. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Visual acuity to use a keyboard, prepare and analyze data and figures; transcribing, viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. May require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand, walk, lift, carry and move light to medium weight. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and learn technical information. Light lifting is required. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force to constantly move objects.
