This position plans, coordinates, and oversees the Exchange Visitor Program’s operational activities, manages the J visa application caseload, prioritizes, and addresses client J visa-related requests, and ensures the program’s operational compliance. This position also provides consultation and training to host organizations.

Your Day:

  • Manage, plan, and coordinate the processing of J-1 visa applications, working with host organizations to collect documents required to issue the DS2019 forms.

  • Trains the Coordinator and oversees the Coordinator’s work as related to the application processing.

  • Ensure program documents and procedures are up to date.

  • Onboard new host organizations and exchange visitors.

  • Monitor and maintain application compliance with the Dept of State requirements.

  • Monitor participants’ wellbeing in the US.

  • Plan, design, and implement cultural enrichment activities for host orgs and exchange visitors.

  • Contribute to the program’s social media presence and supports marketing and outreach activities.

  • Collaborate with Manager, Exchange Visitor Program, on the program’s representation at SHRM events.

  • Support business development initiatives as required by Manager, including the development of new products and services.

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience

  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressively complex work experience

  • Project management and/or client service/account management experience.

  • Experience in the immigration or international exchange fields or international mobility and expatriate programs

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residence status, per U.S. Department of State regulations.

  • Must be available to answer emergency calls outside of normal office hours.

  • Ability to effectively handle sensitive candidate and company information.

  • Experience with SEVIS and 22 CFR 62 (Exchange Visitor Program regulations)

  • Experience with INSZoom, NetSuite or Salesforce.

  • Experience living, studying, and/or working abroad.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Demonstrated professional ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and problem-solve.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations.

  • Work is generally done sitting, talking, hearing, and typing. Visual acuity to use a keyboard, prepare and analyze data and figures; transcribing, viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

Work Environment

  • Work is regularly performed in a combination of office and conference settings and routinely uses standard office equipment.

  • Travel Required: Occasional 0-10%
