Summary

The Specialist, B2C Marketing Designer will play an essential role in maintaining brand design standards and the production of multiple creative projects and communication efforts. This position will have a keen eye for modern design, graphic trends, typography, color, and layout along with brand consistency. This position will visually convey ideas through beautiful compositions.

Responsibilities

  • Work with project managers, creative managers, copywriters, and other team members to flesh out the creative development of ideas and tactical executions.

  • Translate motion graphic story ideas into visual approaches through storyboards.

  • Design and produce engaging direct mail pieces that align with brand guidelines and effectively communicate key messaging to target audiences.

  • Develop original concepts across print, digital, social and video disciplines, and see through to completion.

  • Develops visual design and ensures it adheres to existing brand guidelines.

  • Adhere to timelines and production schedules for deliverables, ensuring issues are appropriately flagged to management and stakeholders.

  • Utilize active-listening to better understand stakeholder needs and concerns. Present thoughts in an understandable manner, depending on audience at hand.

  • Collaborate with coworkers vertically and horizontally across the organization to bring product concepts to life, integrating critical feedback from internal and external stakeholders.

  • Maintain an active familiarity with SHRM’s audience and products and services to ensure designs effectively speak to customer needs and personas.

Education & Work Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years of agency or equivalent experience working on branding, integrated digital campaigns, and web

Certifications

  • N/A

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite products that include but not limited to: Adobe Photoshop CC, Adobe InDesign CC, and Adobe Illustrator CC.

  • Working knowledge of video editing and a knack for motion graphics a plus.

  • Working knowledge of web design tools, SharePoint, and WordPress a plus.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and active-listening skills for receiving feedback and providing recommendations in a constructive solutions-oriented manner.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects at once and deftly communicating and escalating issues as needed.

  • Motivated self-starter with an eagerness to learn from others and the initiative to self-learn

  • Up to date on latest design aesthetics and tools used in the industry

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations.

  • Work is generally done sitting, talking, hearing and typing. Visual acuity to use a keyboard, prepare and analyze data and figures; transcribing, viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

Work environment

  • Work is regularly performed in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.

The hiring range for this position is $70,000 to $83,000 per year. This range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. SHRM offers a competitive and comprehensive total rewards package.
