SUMMARY

The Senior Specialist, B2C Content leads the creation of exclusive, member-only content. This role is integral to enhancing SHRM's membership value proposition by delivering content that is not only premium and engaging but also addresses the evolving needs of our diverse membership base. The Senior Specialist will produce content that is timely, relevant, and dynamic, designed to support the professional growth and success of emerging professionals and HR professionals. Reporting to the Lead, B2C Content, this position offers a unique opportunity to enrich the SHRM membership experience and contribute to the organization's mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Exclusive Content Creation: Develop a strategic content plan for member-only offerings, including articles, webinars, podcasts, and video series that cater to the specific interests and needs of SHRM members.

  • Content Curation and Personalization: Curate and personalize content to ensure relevancy and value for different segments of SHRM's membership community, enhancing member engagement and satisfaction.

  • Trend Analysis and Insight Generation: Keep abreast of the latest HR trends, research findings, and best practices to ensure that content is cutting-edge, insightful, and supports the professional development of SHRM members.

  • Member Engagement: Implement innovative strategies to promote member interaction and feedback on content, using insights to continually enhance content relevance and impact.

  • Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with various SHRM departments, including research, education, and advocacy, to align content with organizational priorities and member needs.

  • Performance Measurement: Utilize analytics to track content engagement and effectiveness, adapting strategies to maximize value for SHRM members.

  • Strategic Content Planning: Identify key topics and trends that resonate with HR professionals and leaders, planning and producing content that supports their needs and challenges.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Business, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in content marketing, with a focus on B2C content creation and remixing.

  • Demonstrated success in repurposing content across various formats and platforms.

  • Experience with data visualization and analytics tools.

  • A portfolio of work, including, short & long form pieces.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of content marketing strategies and audience engagement principles.

  • Advanced degree in Communications, Journalism, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.

  • Deep understanding of HR issues, trends, and the professional development needs of HR practitioners.

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and content production skills across multiple formats and platforms.

  • Expertise in content strategy, audience segmentation, and digital analytics.

  • Strong project management and leadership skills, with the ability to lead content projects from conception to completion.

  • Innovative and strategic thinker with a knack for creating compelling, high-quality content that resonates with an HR audience.

  • Excellent communicator and collaborator, able to work effectively with teams across the organization.

  • Agility in responding to changing market trends and member needs, with a commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Proven experience in creating and managing exclusive, high-value content for a membership organization or similar entity.

  • Demonstrated ability to engage and grow an audience through strategic content initiatives.

  • Passion for SHRM's mission and a commitment to enhancing the value of SHRM membership through superior content.

  • Passionate about SHRM's mission and committed to advancing the HR profession.

Physical Requirements

  • Capable of performing essential duties with reasonable accommodations.

  • Work involves sitting, talking, hearing, and typing, with visual acuity required for keyboard usage, data analysis, and computer terminal operation.

  • Occasional light lifting may be necessary.

Work environment

  • Work is primarily conducted in a professional office setting, utilizing standard office equipment.

  • Expected office presence of 3 days per week.

  • Minimal travel requirements, less than 10%

The hiring range for this position is $83,000 to $97,000 per year. This range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. SHRM offers a competitive and comprehensive total rewards package.
